Its one and two star share is 6 points above the typical installer in the Brownsville area. Across Texas, 205 of the 728 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 22 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Every company we hold in the Brownsville area, on one axis

0% rated 1–2★75%

Each mark is one company we hold in the Brownsville area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. American Made Solar and Wind Technologies is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Absolutely a scam! My Mother’s home has been paid for over 30 years. She bought solar panels and 2 yrs later she gets a mortgage statement….! There are nowhere to be found. Please be carful with these solar panel companies.

  • 1★ · around August 2024

This company scams you into purchase and now they are nowhere to be found…25 year warranty and nothing…pay more now than before I had panels.

  • 5★ · around August 2022

Excellent service, I am already seeing the results of having installed the solar panel system in my house, I am very happy to pay little money on my electricity bills.

  • 5★ · around August 2022

I had been looking for solar panels for months near my city in Texas and now I found them! I recommend this service. They have been very professional.

  • 5★ · around August 2022

I have to say it was the best decision I've ever made. They certainly offer a high quality service that shows results. Professionals at all times and the attention they provide to the client is the best.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“$0.00 installation costs. 25-year warranty. 20-year investment. We help you…”

Its website also mentions free estimate, 24/7 availability and established, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on HomeAdvisor. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on YouTube, X, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
