Its one and two star share is 9 points above the typical installer in Wisconsin. Across Wisconsin, 15 of the 58 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 11 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in Wisconsin whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Midwest Solars is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

TLDR: Don't use if you value your time and money. We contracted Midwest Solars because we wanted to stay with a local company. Communication and progress were good until it was actually time to meet timelines that were discussed at the time when contracts were signed. According to Tom Wingert (company president) we were 30 days from install as of October 15, 2025. The first panel didn't go up until December 22, 2025. Over a month later than we were told. Through all of this, my wife and I were the ones that had to ask for updates and progress reports. No one from Midwest Solars could be bother

Contracted Midwest solar to tear off and install solar panels after roof replacement insurance claim. Tom was responsive every step of the way and provided 100% satisfaction guarantee ensuring the panels were restored to working condition without problems. Thanks for the quality service!

Had a very good experience with Midwest solars!! Tom and his crew were great, communication was great! We are very pleased with the install and would 100% recommend him if you are considering going solar. He has been very good with follow up questions and checking in to make sure all is well with the system. Thank you Midwest Solars!!!

We had Midwest Solars install solar panels for us 2 years ago. They were quick and professional with the installation and handled everything with the power company. They have also been quick to respond to any questions i had after the sale. Prior to installation, they told us about the different incentives that were offered at the time. My total loan amount for the panels plus my current electrical bill is less than I was paying before. Plus with the tax incentives that were offered, I am way ahead. I would highly recommend Midwest Solars to anyone.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Years in business

“to our beliefs. We are experts with over 9 years of experience and having worked for…”

Its website also mentions free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on X, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
