Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in the Des Moines area. Across Iowa, 23 of the 46 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 24 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Des Moines area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. PowerFilm Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

This company is no different than any other. Saying how they care about people. Companies fail to understand that things happen in a person's life that they have no control over. How can things change in a short time from a person doing a good job to we don't need you anymore. Seems they like other places only care about the money

I'm the inventor of the Bubble-Worm.. I have been given 2 tours of PowerFim Solar. One by Tim Neugent in 2010. The other in 2013. Q: You're in Ames like ISU. Why aren't solar panels more efficient by now. Intel's 8088 was 4.77 megahertz in the 80s. By the end of the 80s.. They were considerably faster.. Now in the Gigahertz.. Does solar need better engineering schools? I have a sample. I'll take pictures.. And add my ideas to make it more efficient. Give me a few days. Additionally. Change black roll to violet or purple. UV has shorter wavelengths. Also will reduce temperature making panels mo

I've purchased a few PowerFilm solar rollable and folding products over the years for backcountry camping, ham radio, and keeping my fishing boat battery charged with their Soltronix panel. All of their products are very well built, and PowerFilm solar is very fast and helpful with any questions. Great products, made in Iowa.

This is a brief review of the PowerFilm Light Saver Max and the PowerFilm 60 watt Fold-able Solar Panel I am currently using these PowerFilm power devices in a portable off grid use case to power Radios, Communications and Medical equipment to support EMS, Skywarn as well as Search and Rescue operations as well as other use cases and applications. We are currently using the PowerFilm products to power an Icom 705 all-mode radio, other 2 way mobile radios, Starlink minis, laptops and other low power equipment with both

I’m So glad i went with Powerfilm Solar. Excellent customer service from a made in USA company. I had a battery issue with my LSM-1 LightSaver Max and they went above and beyond by replacing the entire unit. The battery died after 6 years of use. I could have gone with cheaper “overseas” products but do you think they would have replaced anything after 6 years of use? Negative…You wouldnt even get 6 years of use in the first place. Fast response (resolved in 1 day), professional support, and they truly stand behind their products. It’s rare to find companies with this level of service anymore.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Years in business

“has operated in the United States for more than 30 years, supporting commercial and government…”

Its website also mentions warranty, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
