Its one and two star share is 21 points above the typical installer in Hawaii. Across Hawaii, 10 of the 87 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 5 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Recently, I made the mistake of giving a Sunrun rep my contact info, ostensibly to set up an appointment for a quote. This was on a Saturday at Home Depot in Kona. Much to my dismay, I received the first call from this company on Sunday morning, the next day. Since then, I've received four phone calls a day, even though I have the number blocked. This afternoon, I received yet another call from Sunrun, this time they used a different number, since apparently they won't take the hint. This new number has been blocked, as well. Nobody likes overly pushy salespeople. I will not do business with t

Has to be the worst experience with any company in my life hands down. RUN from Sunrun. I have done 1 house with them that went not great and two others were a train wreck. Cost me tens of thousands of dollars

Crooks. System has not been working properly for almost a full year and they are still collecting and billing full price. I turned off autopay and have told them I’m not paying for a messed up system and all I get are phone calls, emails and texts asking for payment. My electric bill is $500!!! I’m not paying for a 28 panel system that’s not properly functioning! All they have said is they submitted a request for a credit and the contract doesn’t guarantee “production” sure but it guarantees your system works!!!! Yesterday was soooo sunny and it STILL only said 69% self powered! STAY AWAY

Amy Paikuli approached us at Home Depot while looking at power bank stations. She is super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about sunrun. We didn’t feel any pressure through out our conversation and she gave us all the resources to reach out to her when we are ready.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.
What the company says about itself
Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.
Warranty
“of contract, 5 year roof penetration warranty, 24/7 system monitoring Who…”
24/7 availability
“full service for life with 24/7 monitoring Sunrun Subscription Plan…”

- It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
- It posts on Pinterest, X, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
