Its one and two star share is 9 points above the typical installer in California. Across California, 421 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 27 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I am usually sitting in my garage with the door 1/3 open, working privately on my art. All of a sudden, a man either calls me from the street walking aggressively towards me, calls me from under the door, or even, once, a man tried to climb under the garage door. This is unacceptable behavior, particularly, when you speak to the men, they are aggressive and prompt you with personal questions and they don't go away. They keep coming back. It is an invasion of privacy.

We had a young man ring our doorbell midday on July 18th. He told me he was there on behalf of PG&E and proceeded to tell me that PG&E was mandating home battery storage in Atascadero. I told him that I don’t believe him and asked him to …

A friend of ours worked for the company. When we realized that we didn’t have to put up any money upfront, we were sold. If you can buy your panels outright, that’s great. But if you can’t, renting is still a no-brainer. We’ve had the panels for a few years now. We had one issue that caused a disruption in service for three months. The company did eventually fix it and reimbursed us for the electric bills we incurred during that time. Overall, I have no real complaints. The rental fee is fair at $92 a month for our home with a 2% increase every year for 15 years. Anybody I’ve had to talk to on

I worked with Jacob Contreras throughout the sales and installation process. Jacob was extremely knowledgeable, answering all my question. He was very personable any responded quickly to all of my numerous follow up concerns. The install process went smoothly and the installers were receptive to my concerns regarding the appearance and footprint of the equipment attached to my residence. The lead electrician, Joe, was friendly, knowledgeable and receptive to my concerns. He explained the system well and ensured that the work site remained tidy. The install was completed quickly. What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“of contract, 5 year roof penetration warranty, 24/7 system monitoring Who…”
  • 24/7 availability

“full service for life with 24/7 monitoring Sunrun Subscription Plan…”

Its website also mentions free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • Google also lists this company under roofing. A company that does both roofing and solar can handle the roof work a panel install often needs.
  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Pinterest, X, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
