Every company we hold in Illinois whose Google breakdown has been read, grouped by their share of one and two star reviews. Day & Night Solar is in the highlighted group.

I bought an Enphase solar array back in 2014. Over $42,000 and asked for the ability to expand the system. Not only did the system under perform but the wiring to my 100-amp panel was rated for 60 amps. The main ground for my whole house was left loose and the mapping of the micro-inverters is so inaccurate that all of the panels are going to have to be removed and remapped. The solar panel supplier went out of business a year later and I was told I was on my own. NO WARRANTY! I would recommend them to someone I truly disliked!!

These people give horrible service. My system has been down for over 60 days and they don’t come and fix it. Had to go elsewhere. Don’t do business with this company.

I'm very happy with Day & Night Solar. They were professional and competent throughout the entire process and most communication was responded to within hours. Highly recommended that you choose them as a local company over one of the larger nationwide companies.

The Day and Night team went above and beyond in the handling of our recent service requirement on our 5 year old residential solar system. Many thanks for their professionalism and expertise.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

• It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

• —The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
• —We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
• —We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
• —We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
