Its one and two star share is 13 points above the typical installer in Chula Vista. Across California, 368 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 8 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.
Every company we hold in Chula Vista, on one axis
Each mark is one company we hold in Chula Vista whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Family First Solar Electric is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

this company is working in my neighbors apartment today and they drilled a hole from that apartment right into my bathroom. they did not apologize and as a woman home alone i was VERY scared. i was standing right next to where the drill went through. the men working told me that their boss “checked that the wall was an exterior wall” before they drilled. there was no boss in sight. i’m not quite sure how they wouldn’t notice that the building continued after that wall. you would think that they would double check a wall before drilling a hole into it. absolutely terrible.

I wanted to give a shout out to this company! They had great customer service and got me a quote to provide to my homeowners insurance company to get my solar panel replaced. Straight bullet went through our solar! Thank God no one was hurt! And the job was approved and completed! Thank you! Note: always get a quote from the required trade company for the fixture, before or asap before filing your insurance claim! This stuff can be pricey! $$$

Thought I reviewed this company already! I guess not, and only realized because my father asked me if I was satisfied with my solar install and didn't recall them having so few Google reviews! I guess I'm part of the problem! Anyway, I had been shopping for solar for YEARS. It seemed every quote I got was just SO insanely padded with commissions and I dont know what all, that I could never bring myself to pull the trigger. Granted, the actual cost of solar also did go down in that five year span, but the most recent quotes I got (besides national chains like Mona Lee, Project Solar, and Tesla)

I have to share my experience with anyone who has solar installation projects. After going through two companies, one worse and less professional than the other, I found Family First Solar Electric, managed by Anthony (owner), who installed everything needed for the final inspection in record time at a cost 50% lower than the others, although the quality of the installed equipment was unmatched. Anthony's service was impeccable from start to finish. Thank you Anthony and team.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.
Elsewhere
- It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
