Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in Colorado. Across Colorado, 113 of the 216 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 450 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

We hired Independent Power to install two large solar arrays on our hotels in Estes Park—a 93kW (211-panel) and a 75kW (170-panel) system, both installed in 2020. This review reflects our long-term experience with Independent Power, including their post-installation support. Unfortunately, our experience has been disappointing from the outset. The project was scheduled for a two-week installation, which was crucial for our seasonal business, but it ultimately took more than six months to complete. During installation, one of the panels blew off the roof and landed in a neighboring field—a dang

I had Independent Power service my existing system (prior installer is no more). Diagnosis was expensive but appeared to be reasonably detailed and identified a number of issues. I paid the estimate to have these addressed. I took time of work to be available and 30mins before the appointment it's cancelled. They did return another day and communicated well but then the work performed was below standard. Whilst they fixed the main issue (and never brought up other concerns identified at diagnosis), my inverter ground was disconnected and later went into fault mode. Luckily I noticed the issue

I had a negative experience with IPS. I chose IPS over my preferred installer because IPS said that they had my panels in stock and reserved for my project. After 5 months of delays, I found out they did not have my panels in stock, and installation was completed only after downgrading the panels twice. In the end, I'm satisfied with the quality of work, but I regret not going with the other installer who had higher quality panels. EDIT: I asked for the REC panels, but there would have been a large increase in cost for the REC panels, so my system has SunPower panels. SunPower is currently in

Andrew was very professional, extremely knowledgeable, and ultimately made the decision to use IPS a no-brainer. We look forward to all the steps ahead. If they are as easy as working with Andrew, it will be a breeze. Update (Aug 2024): 1.5 years after installation, one of our panels stopped working because of a faulty part. We are going to be out-of-pocket more than $1k to get it fixed, half of that for the part, the other for service time/labor. At this point, we felt nickel-and-dimed by IPS. Update (Mar 2025): More than six months went by, but I think we worked out an agreement. The manufac

A big & somewhat complex project taken on by Independent Power, proving well worth the time, effort & expense! After a very dry and warm winter, and a baby on the way, I knew we needed to climate control our '88 home that had no a/c. Even though we have ducts and a 2 year old furnace, my research showed with all the unique spaces, multi-levels, high ceilings and need for energy efficiency and moving away from gas, that a 5 heat/a/c mini split configuration with 2 heat pumps and a electrical panel upgrade to bring everything to code was the direction we needed & wanted for our home & future. Excellent work for a reasonable price, within two weeks of requesting it. Thank you Jadon, Kael, and Josh! You'll be at the top of our list if we need more work in the future.

We were having issues with the EV Charger in our parking lot. Josh came out and looked everything over, checked the breakers, and we're now confident the EV Charger is in working order. Thanks Josh!

- Google also lists this company under electrical.
- It is also reviewed on Thumbtack and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
