Its one and two star share is 8 points above the typical installer in Redding. Across California, 481 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 13 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in Redding whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Next Level Energy is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Highly dishonest, predatory 3rd party sales, be careful with Ryan the owner/founder he is not a license contractor to do anything but sell solar. If you are elderly he will be highly manipulative. He does not follow through at all once contract is signed, he will require chasing nearly weekly for months. Save your money and time and go with a trusted local provider and direct sales.

Ryan acted as an agent/consultant in our solar project, helping to walk it through a maze of regulation and C-19 delays, stayed in constant communication and helped bring it to fruition - great job, Ryan! -- john campbell, md, Pacific Pathology Inc.

Ryan and Next Level Energy exceeded our expectations navigating us through the varied options of residential solar. We bought a 1932 fixer upper and installing solar was an early priority, knowing full well some electrical upgrades and an re-roof of the garage would be needed. Ryan has expertise in roofing and has worked in solar for a long time. The roofers did a fantastic job adding details at my request, like a ridge vent, and details I did not expect. The main service panel was upgraded and the coordination with the electrical contractor, county permitting, PG&E, and the solar installation

Ryan was beyond helpful and went out of his way to make sure that everything was perfect! He was here to clean my solar panels but took the time to clean the gutters while he was here! The panels look amazing and are more efficient. I don't write a lot of reviews but was so blown away by his energy and willingness to go above and beyond I wanted to share the experience. Thank you Ryan!

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“with everything in the original warranty transferring. We will definitely be…”

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, X and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
