Its one and two star share is 6 points above the typical installer in California. Across California, 500 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 14 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Solar Solutions has just completed their installation of our new system including battery backup. I would like to thank owner Paul Jacobs, the installers, and office staff for a friendly and totally professional job, including organizing all permits and inspections. Thank You, Rich and Patti

Recently had solar done by Solar Solutions, in upper Shingletown,I Rock filled ground with rocks of 4 and 5 foot diameter. I had dug out 6 of these and left a 10 ft deep 20 x 20 area. Back filled withe still a rock that was more like 6 ft in diameter in the hole. Paul and his crew worked so hard in the front panel area that did not seam to have so many of these but as they start to put in the hols they soon ran into some. They worked so hard to install the holes and to get it ready for inspection, It all passed and they then installed the poles int the concrete, which was another major task th

Had a tree branch fall on one of my solar panels. Called my installer asking for a price on replacement and heard nothing back for 2 months. After several emails to the owner I got back a snarky email telling me they were trying to meet a deadline were suspending all service calls and correspondence ($50k well spent right?) Called Solar Solutions and in less than 5 minutes they happened to have exactly 1 of the exact panel I needed in stock. Will be calling them for anything outside of warranty work from now on.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

    “a 5-year roof/roof leak prevention warranty, a 10-year workmanship warranty, and…”

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
