Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in Alabama. Across Alabama, 8 of the 17 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 23 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in Alabama whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Solar Technology Alabama is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Ron invited my wife and me to see his off-grid home and to discuss our design. Turns out he just wanted to talk "at" us for hours on end explaining every detail of his system. He never asked us what we wanted or where we were with our house build (which was half finished). We had to interrupt him to get on the topic of our design. After two and a half hours of him talking "at" us with no end in sight, we interrupted so we could leave. Although we asked for a quote and followed up two weeks later, we never got anything. If he didn't want the job, he could have just said so. This delayed our des

The personnel have been a problem to work with from the start of the installation. I feel misled about the local power company credits available. My system went online in October of 2017, and getting support from this company when issues have occurred has been near impossible. I have one panel that has been out for over 6 months. As I write this, I am waiting on them to show up to address my faulty panel. They were supposed to be here at 9, and it’s currently 9:30. Consistently late and lacking in support.. I wish I had my money back.

I moved here from CT where there are loads of solar panels on residential homes. I couldn’t figure out why not in Alabama. After talking with Ron, I now understand why. Ron explained everything in detail & did not talk like a sales person. He was quite honest & to the point. He responded timely & in a professional manner. I highly suggest this company if your searching for solar power

They are very professional with what they do very pleased with everything they have done for me. I had some questions and they answered them right away I recommend them over anybody, and they do what they say. They also clean up behind their selves every day.

Great set-up. Friendly and knowledgeable. If you're going off-grid this is the place to call. Or even grid-tied solar. They do it all.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions established and years in business, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    Elsewhere

    • It is also reviewed on Angi. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
    • It posts on YouTube. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

    Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
