Happy with the initial installation in 2023. However, have had to pay four separate service charges and fees for "mobilization" in the past year due to faulty equipment that eventually had to be replaced along with losing out on the $$$ we should have been saving on our electric bills by having solar.

Be very careful when dealing with this company. We had them install solar at our home. During this process their recommended electrician tried to over charge is almost 8 thousand dollars to re run all of our electrical. A local electrician recommended by the electric company did it for 1/4 the estimate. Also they were unaware of local building codes and I had to contact the county inspector my self to have the panels placed where I wanted. Cost of system was 55 thousand. We then were going to have a system at our business installed for 100 thousand. READ every line of your contract. After mont

Do NOT go with this company—especially if you are in the Urbana-Champaign area. I had my solar panels installed by them a few years ago. For the second year in a row, the system stopped working during summer—the peak production season. This is what I was quoted just for a diagnostic visit: “This visit will be billable at our current two-tech rate of $212 per hour. There will also be a $275 travel fee for sending these technicians to your home from our Bloomington office. I can give a rough estimate of the visit taking somewhere between 2–4 hours to complete.” That means I’m looking at a minimu

Other than being slow to respond straight up solar is a very honest and reputable company to deal with.

3 years ago StraightUp Solar installed solar panels on my house in Mahomet, IL. They did all the paperwork for me to obtain the government rebates, as well as all the paperwork for a loan for about half of the project. Their customer service has been top notch. They keep monitoring the panels’ production every day and email me right away if there is an issue. They had to come back several times due to an ‘arc fault’ error that was caused by firmware updates on the inverter. They spent a whole day taking off every panel and redoing the connections between every panel to make sure there was no i

Outstanding service. Raymond, a StraightUp technician, contacted me to inquire about the lack of data he was seeing from my system. He was very interested in helping me troubleshoot, and as it turned out, I was experiencing an internet issue which when resolved, put my system back online for monitoring. So great to have someone watching over our production. Another reason I made a great decision choosing StraightUp for my solor equipment and installation. Highly recommend for the prep, installation, and now the monitoring !!! Shine On with StraightUp !! * * * * * Update 7/2026 I continue to be

- It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
- It posts on Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
