Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in Maryland. Across Maryland, 59 of the 111 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 5 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I am now on my one year anniversary of having solar and can’t say enough positive things about it. I am so glad I went with John Dix (amazing consultant and right there with me throughout the whole project) Sun energy was great, installation was seamless and its been a huge game changer as my house generates all its own electricity! I’m saving so much money! Thank you John and team - the best!!

We had the pleasure of working with Sun Energy Consultants, and we cannot recommend them enough! John D. Dix, the consultant we worked with, was outstanding. From the start, John was incredibly responsive, answering all our questions promptly and thoroughly. His knowledge of solar energy systems is top-notch, and he provided valuable insights into what would work best for our specific needs. John took the time to walk us through the whole design and installation process. Throughout the entire process, John was there every step of the way, providing support and answering all our questions. His

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions warranty and free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    Elsewhere

    • It is also reviewed on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
    • It posts on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
