Its one and two star share is 19 points above the typical installer in the St George area. Across Utah, 38 of the 167 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 36 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the St George area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. ACES Lyfe is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

This company is a a rip off! A few years ago I got talked into the attic insulation that is supposed to be more energy efficient and help reduce my energy bill cost. However, the insulation doesn't reduce my energy bill at all! For how much money I paid for the product, I am extremely disappointed and wish I could get a refund! I would not recommend this company to anyone! I don't understand how this company gets away with ripping people off!

The aluminum insulation we had installed did nothing to lower our energy bill. A salespersons offer was that we could purchase solar panels at a reduced rate. Beyond that offer I have had no help remedy the situation. The people I have worked with have been nice, but no communications have come from the owner. They will not stand behind their product claims.

I wouldn't even give 1 star, everything said to us has been a lie , we have not saved anything and we are paying utilities and a solar payment, they say they will look into it and don't and now they say to wait a year to see the savings..nothing but lies, huge mistake.

They did a good job putting up solar panels . But the yard was a mess. They had to dig our power lines under ground to connect to garage .

Our representative Stetson kept us up to date on the process every step of the way and was always available to answer any questions we had that came up.

I reached out to Colin for some more info on solar for our home after speaking with another company. He was quick to respond and put a proposal together for us. He was friendly, professional and answered all of our questions. He didn't pressure us in any way, even after we decided solar wasn't the best for us at this time. We will definitely use ACES Lyfe in the future when we are ready to make the investment!

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
