Alternative Energy Solutions

Each mark is one company we hold in the Simi Valley area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Alternative Energy Solutions is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

It was a pleasure working with Jake. He kept me informed and did a great job removing and reinstalling my solar panels so that I could replace my roof.

Jacob (Jake) took over my project after another installer, Demand Construction, defaulted on my project, costing me thousands more than what I had agreed to with them. I got several quotes for the completion of the installation, and Jake had the best quote. He was responsible, communicated well, and did what he said he'd do. He had to correct several things about the work done by Demand. And he painted an outdoor conduit which was there for another reason! I recommend Jake for your solar project.

Few things can be as confusing as solar (at least for us). Looking for the right installer, we spoke with companies big and small. Some tried to sell us things we didn’t need. A neighbor recommended Alternative Energy Solutions. They turned out to be everything you hope every company will be. Caring. Timely, Honest. Fair. And very good at what they do. On top of that, they’re small (though that doesn’t affect their efficiency). The owner, and a skilled co-worker, did the work. I’m old enough to know where the definition of old school comes from, and what it means. Doing things the right way. T

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

• It is also reviewed on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

• —The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
• —We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
• —We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
• —We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
