Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in California. Across California, 788 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 10 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

What reviewers said

When I was deciding to go solar back in 2017, I quoted several local companies and decided on Beach Cities Solar Consulting. It was a great decision that is paying for itself every year in SCE energy savings! James and his team are transparent and honest, a rarity in the solar industry. The permitting process and work was done quickly, and to a high standard and I am still referring neighbors, family, and co-workers to BCSC today!

After deciding to install solar panels on my warehouse roof I quickly realized I needed a professional to guide me through the process. Which companies were reliable and which companies offered the lowest overall cost would take some "inside" knowledge. James was the right person for the job and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking at a commercial solar power install.

10 years later one of the best decisions I ever made !! Thank you James Kennedy!! I love opening my electric bill!

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    • It posts on LinkedIn and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
