Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in Fresno. Across California, 615 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 69 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

0% rated 1–2★25%

Each mark is one company we hold in Fresno whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Nova West Energy is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

They are incompetent. I do not recommend. They gave PG&E wrong meter number then getting the runaround about aggregation. Multiple unanswered emails , multiple phone calls and no follow-ups . Cannot recommend . I plan on putting in a 2nd system for my other meter , will use a different company .

If you want a team of solar guys that loves kicking the details to the curb, and pointing the finger at the next guy I highly recommend Nova West. Jack and Andrew are never on the same page and it always seems that they have to talk with someone else, who is either in a meeting or not in the office. And I really thought guys had their stuff together, so much that we bought a system from them several years ago. Certainly can’t recommend them anymore.

the absolute worst.started the process in january.heard nothing from them for three months, after they cashed a 1000.00 deposit check.everytime there was any contact with them i had to call or email them, most times without a reply.they came out to meaure three times, each time with no call or explanation as to why they were here or what the issues were.when they finally started the work in late april they left trash on the lawn that i had to clean up and left hardware in my pool(screws, nuts, bolts, and washers)also that i had to remove.then there were the electrical issues that still are not resol

I was very pleased with Nova West for 10 years. Had them add panels last year. Now they say they must charge for labor on my 20 year warranty. This is a breach of contract. My warranty covers parts and labor.

Before I start with details, I want to say that Justin Douglass and Nova West is the best locally owned solar company in the Central Valley hands down. We live in Riverstone, and all new housing requires solar panels, so we purchased instead of leased what we were required to purchase when we first bought our house. Within 6 months of moving in, the company that was providing the solar panels went bankrupt. So now we have no way of monitoring or contacting anyone if we think something is wrong. On top of that, our true up bill started soaring. My wife and I were very upset and didn't know what

Nova West was the third solar company I spoke to, and I wish I had found them first. After getting quotes from two other companies, Nova West came in 20–30% lower — without any of the pressure. Ian took a genuinely consultative approach, more like a home energy advisor than a salesperson, which made the whole process feel a lot more trustworthy. Their timeline was accurate and they set realistic expectations from the start. The system was installed in the same week they told me it would be, which honestly surprised me given how often contractors miss their own windows. What really stood out wa

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    Elsewhere

    • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
    • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

As Google published them when we last read the listing, not a live check. Ring before you drive anywhere.

    Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
