Its one and two star share is 27 points above the typical installer in New York. Across New York, 24 of the 247 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 24 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

A total joke from the sale to six years later. The install - wrong, damaged the structure of my home. The electrical was done incorrectly and they disconnected existing infrastructure that should not have been disconnected. It remains disconnected. The support- ignored all of my requests for help until AFTER the warranty had expired, I FINALLY got a hold of a human (He was great, but that was it), they had no problem instantly billing me another almost grand to fix what should have been covered. Allowed a person who had no legal authority to enter into any contract with them CHANGE the contrac

Super disappointed with our interactions here. We couldn’t afford to work with them the first time around, let them know, and then got no response. When we came back because I got a new job and we COULD afford it, our salesperson stopped responding to us mid conversation in asking for a new estimate! Their loss. We’ve since committed to using Halco for solar (this is a 20k+ loss for Renovus).

Equipment and installation are fine but do take some time to get started. As a business they aren’t very good about calling back . Is extremely hard to get a human to talk with.

Renovus was wonderful from start to finish of our job. We can't think of any way they could improve!

Renovus made everything simple and streamlined! They were great to work with. The PV system has been working very well with no issues so far. Thanks guys!

    A THOROUGHLY PROFESSIONAL PROCESS THROUGHOUT.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“near the array. Is my system's warranty transferable? Yes! Any of the…”

  • Years in business

“on behalf of our customers for more than 15 years. Through our outreach and…”

Its website also mentions free estimate and established, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
