Its one and two star share is 6 points above the typical installer in Florida. Across Florida, 214 of the 675 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 26 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I wouldn’t recommend Source Energy solar to anyone. The solar panels they installed have barely made an impact on my FPL electric bill, the system is less sophisticated than FPL’s (I’m unable to track which appliances / ac / pool heater etc uses how much electricity) no one can explain why my panels produce more electricity than FPL receives and unfortunately my dependence on the ‘grid’ has only decreased 23%. In spite of many attempts to contact the salesman, I’ve not heard from him since the installation last year.

I had a terrible experience with Nick, he wasn’t be honest and ethical with us. If you decide to do Solar, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Nick and Dylan are very reputable businessmen and provide what they promise. We had a minor dispute with the company. When we explained our issue, they were very reasonable and handle it in a very professional manner. There are many disreputable and fly-by-night solar panel companies out there. Source Energy is certainly NOT one of them. I highly recommend them for all your solar panel needs.

Nick absolutely knows his craft. Always easy working with him.

When rating or reviewing any company, I always ask myself, "Would they perform their service like they were performing the service on their own home or their family's home?" Thanks to Dylan Straub, I can unequivocally respond, "100 percent, yes!" Thank you, Dylan, we appreciate you so much for making yourself available to answer all of our questions and concerns. You're the best!

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
