Its one and two star share is 14 points above the typical installer in the Paso Robles area. Across California, 175 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 4 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Paso Robles area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Sun Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Full disclosure, we have not used their services but hope this review will encourage them to stop soliciting in gated communities. For three weekends in a row, representatives from sun solar have rang our doorbell, waking our toddler from her nap, to try to sell us on solar. Twice, we have spoken with them and kindly told them we are not interested. Please, stop coming to our house every weekend. The kicker is, we already have VERY VISIBLE SOLAR already installed on our roof.

A few years Sun Solar installed our solar system, and it's been one of the best decisions we've made for our home. From the very beginning, the entire process was smooth and well-organized. Scott took the time to explain every detail, ensuring we understood how solar energy works and the benefits it would bring. His professionalism and knowledge were evident from our initial consultation, where he answered all our questions and provided us with a comprehensive overview of our options. A couple months ago when we experienced a problem with our system, the Sun Solar team jumped into action and h

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
