Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in the Lowell area. Across Massachusetts, 77 of the 198 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 20 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Lowell area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Sunday Energy is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

What reviewers said

Very rude, not honest, this is the type of solar company people warn you about.

Yousef and Sophia are such nice people. They explained how the process will go. Plain talk. They kept in touch with me the whole process. I needed a new roof. They arranged everything. The day the solar panels came the workers went right to work. They were done in one day. If you are thinking of going solar I recommend this company.

We worked with Danny to put a system on our house. He was very thorough with my husband and answered all sorts of technical questions along the way, was very knowledgeable about the direction of the industry, and was very proactive about things like how it would affect our insurance unlike other reps that had approached us. Our solar install was also very quick, efficient and clean up was nice and neat. Great job!

Andrew and Farlei made the process as smooth as possible and were super responsive. I’d recommend them and Sunday Energy to anyone looking to get solar installed on their house.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions veteran owned and warranty, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    Elsewhere

    • It is also reviewed on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
    • It posts on Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

As Google published them when we last read the listing, not a live check. Ring before you drive anywhere.

    Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
