Its one and two star share is 3 points below the typical installer in the Poway area. Across California, 788 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 19 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Poway area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Sunspired Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

I had a great experience with Derrick and the team at Sunspired Solar and Builders. The solar panel installation went smoothly, and Derrick has always been available whenever I’ve had questions. Most recently, he even helped me reboot my solar panel breaker, which I really appreciated. His responsiveness, professionalism, and willingness to help even after the installation truly set him apart. I highly recommend Derrick and Sunspired Solar to anyone considering solar. Excellent service all around!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but Sunspired Solar seriously deserves this shout out. I had them do three projects: spa install, electric panel upgrade, and solar with 24 panels plus a Tesla Powerwall 3. Every job was smooth, fast, and done right. I found them through a coworker who had them do her roof. She wouldn’t stop raving about how great they were: she was right. Derrick (the owner) gave me the best quote: 15% better than the next best and 50% better than the worst, for the exact same equipment. No upselling, no pressure, just clear info so I could make the right call. His foreman Dave,

My experience with this company from start to finish was stress-free and extremely smooth. Derrick (the owner) is so easy to work with. Once we aligned on the requirements, Derrick sent me 3 proposals (w/o battery, w/ Tesla battery, w/ Enphase battery) explaining the pros/cons of each system in an email. The detailed email made my decision very easy. He explained me the overall installation process (which spans around 3 weeks including the approvals, inspection, etc.) and executed that to perfection. I never had to check with him on status to ensure if the installation process was on schedule

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“We install ’em. We maintain and warranty our own installations. So we can…”

Its website also mentions licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
