The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 16 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I had a contract signed stating 12 weeks timeframe for most work being completed. During this time frame, the company had switched control to their parent company and I wasn’t informed of this until the electrician showed up to install my system. The work wasn’t even started on my house for 6 months. During that time I was promised my electric bill would be covered, which never happened. Week after week of promised start dates that never came left me hopeless on the entire installation. When they finally did come out I was told 1-2 weeks install time, but it took 4 weeks of them showing up som

Emailed and texted several times over the span of a week after receiving a quote with some questions. Did not receive a response. Went with a competitor that was a bit more money but much more responsive. Concerned about reliability since Adam would not respond despite multiple attempts to contact.

Recently completed installing home solar system. They listened to my concerns, persevered with a complicated job and were entirely competent and professional.

Working with John, Dan, and Richelle at Whaling City Solar was a great experience throughout the entire process. They were very informative early on to help me understand how the process worked and what type of solution would work best for my house all with a no pressure quote/visit. I felt that whaling city provided me with the most transparent information I received from other companies. They communicated well during the permit/install process and were able to get me up and running in about 2.5 months once the contract was signed. Would certainly recommend them for your home solar projects.

I went into the residential solar market knowing nothing. Dan was invaluable in helping me with my project in New Bedford. I would highly recommend, WCS.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.
What the company says about itself
Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.
24/7 availability
“that reports your system production 24/7 direct form your inverter. Watch out,…”
Established
“has increased by 49% per year since 2010, which probably matches what you see…”
Its website also mentions free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.
Elsewhere
- It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
- It posts on Instagram, YouTube, X and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
