Its one and two star share is 2 points above the typical installer in Illinois. Across Illinois, 82 of the 183 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 109 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

What reviewers said

We've been working with them since October. They kicked it into High Pressure Sales Mode to get me running before the Federal rebates ran out. Weeks of emails and paperwork back and forth. They've been out to my house multiple times. Today they tell me their "structural team" doesn't like my roof and they're bailing on our install. Not only a huge waste of our time, but I now have 0 chance of taking advantage of any Federal rebates.

Have contacted them several times to get a quote for our home with little follow up from them.

AES was phenomenal to work with from beginning until the job was complete! They still take my calls for questions I have! My Ameren bill is 1/4 of what it was last year @ this time! I would highly recommend AES Solar! Shop local!

Ase solar was easy to work with starting with Brooke in sales to Kim in financing everything went smoothly with little effort on my part. Their installation crew was very polite and courteous with attention to detail on how everything was installed and wiring run a very clean install. working with a local company was a plus also I would recommend them for your solar needs .

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Years in business

“first spark to regional trust. For more than 25 years, AES Solar has helped shape the…”

Its website also mentions free estimate and established, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
