Its one and two star share is 1 point above the typical installer in Madison. Across Wisconsin, 20 of the 58 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 21 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

0% rated 1–2★40%

Each mark is one company we hold in Madison whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Arch Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

The first time the representative tried to get me to sign a service contract for something I didn't want with an existing solar structure, didn't provide information for what I DID ask about. The second time he told me it'd cost me for them to send out a full crew to assess what I already have to give me an estimate for adding onto the existing system if I didn't send them an engineer's drawing of what's already there. The only "work" involved with getting specs for an estimate would be 10 minutes worth of measuring by one person, maybe a few minutes more of discussion. The job I was looking f

As someone who works in the rooftop solar industry across the county, I can recommend Arch and their Madison team with confidence as a truly excellent team. Stanley, in particular, was a pleasure to work with. They were focused on my project and its timely installation and worked hard to successfully overcome some obstacles the City of Madison's (very nice, but clearly overworked) permitting folks unnecessarily created by mis-reading the electrical standards. It was great to have Arch on my side. ... It's been two years since I first left the review above and now want to say two more things: (

Arch Solar was highly professional from start to finish. They were very responsive to my questions and the workmanship was extremely high quality. We are thrilled with our new solar system and highly recommend Arch Solar.

Great job and terrific service. All questions were answered rapidly and professionally. I am delighted with the Enlighten (Enphase) app which provides historical and real-time data - it is a hoot to get the readouts. Thanks. Dave & Deb (Whitewater, WI)

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Family owned

“make a positive difference in a small family-owned organization. She goes on to say that…”

  • Years in business

“NABCEP certified solar experts with over 100 years of combined experience. Our company…”

  • Licensed

“and have a diverse staff of trusted, licensed, NABCEP certified solar experts with…”

Its website also mentions woman owned, free estimate and established, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
