Its one and two star share is 1 point above the typical installer in Wisconsin. Across Wisconsin, 27 of the 58 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 137 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Midwest Solar recently installed a 20 panel array at our home. The entire process from start to finish was amazingly straightforward, and transparent. Their design team, installers, electricians, and project managers are true knowledgeable professionals. Any questions I had throughout the process were promptly handled. I highly recommend them.

Everyone was really great to work with. Project manager for our install was always on top of things and kept me updated at every step. Getting the quote was easy and Rick was knowledgeable and great about answering all my detailed and in depth questions. They were by a wide margin the most affordable quote I received but absolutely nothing about the system or the install was “budget.” High end panels, high end inverters, quality monitoring system, and everything installed without issue and looks great.

We had a great experience with Midwest Solar!! Their team was highly communicative throughout the entire process, and the installation itself was smooth and straightforward. What really stood out to me was how simple and transparent everything was. My friends warned me that solar was an area where financing, installation, and pricing is tricky… Midwest Solar was refreshingly clear and easy to work with. No upsells. They were also very knowledgeable about expected system output and walked me through how everything ties into the app. They’re a great local solar company with a very professional t

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
