Its one and two star share is 11 points above the typical installer in Wisconsin. Across Wisconsin, 12 of the 58 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 18 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

We hired 518 solar to complete a project for a client of ours in Wisconsin. They partially installed the project and are non-responsive in finishing the project. They asked for additional funds to pay the utility company to perform a transformer upgrade, but never worked with the utility company or paid the funds to them for the service needing done. The company was paid out 90% of services and is unwilling to respond to inspector's to finish the job. Update: It is even worse than I had thought. Most of the electrical work was never completed on this project after we sent another contractor to

Contracted 518 Solar to come and repair the issues we had after the original solar company we had install the solar system screwed up the install and then went bankrupt. After the initial repair they did. At a pretty penny. I have not been able to get this business back out to finish the job and get all the solar panels working after they re-installed. If you have money to spend they are right there but don't expect much else after.

Jay and crew started the install in January, now it after the 4th of July and I’m still waiting for them to return and finish the wiring.

Great company. Super nice people that do a great job. I couldn't be happier with my off grid solar system. Jay and his son even showed up on a Sunday to finish my install. Thank you 518 solar for the gift of power

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
