Its one and two star share is 2 points above the typical installer in Santa Barbara. Across California, 733 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 23 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in Santa Barbara whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Brighten Solar Co. is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

This is the worst company. They currently have mechanic liens on their properties. Customer went solar and now they did not pay greentech renewables and there are mechanic lien on the homes. Its crazy too, they do not answer the phone either! Do not buy solar from them!!

If money is no object and you are completely clueless about solar Jeremy will gladly sweet talk his way behind you and service your account lube free. He caters to the laymen with a pretty proposal but uses bargain panels and material marked up HUNDREDS of percent. Whatever system size you paid for should have been 3-4x bigger for his material costs. Try and get a detailed parts invoice and see for yourself. You will get a blanket number or none at all and he will move on to his next mark

Thoroughly professional experience from proposal to completion. Very happy with my system and the support. They recommend the best panels and inverter/battery on the market.

Brighten Solar has installed solar panels (over cement tiles) in 2020-2021 and recently, a battery at my home. The staff members are efficient, courteous and, in fact, are fun with good senses of humor. Cash Upton and others answered all …

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
