Its one and two star share is 10 points above the typical installer in Washington. Across Washington, 22 of the 99 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 15 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

*Update* below I purchased my solar panel system in June 2017. As a worst-case-scenario guy, I wanted a system that would work when the power failed. This was the highest priority to me, which I made clear several times to Bruce at Eco Depot. Bruce explained the type of inverter being installed feeds the energy into the grid, running the power meter backward. In those times when there is not enough solar energy production (at night, cloudy days, etc), the system would draw power from the grid, running the power meter forward. He explained further that In the case of a power failure, the invert

Door is locked & couldn't even get anybody come to door to talk to me about possibly purchasing some panels

Highly recommend Eco Depot and Bruce Gage, very professional, transparent, and honest.

I purchased a 38 panel array 4 year ago from Eco Depot. They came recommended by another satisfied customer. From start to finish, this was the best contracting experience. 1) They were careful not to over-represent. No pie-in-the-sky promises. No high-pressure sales tactics. 2) Bruce was awesome. Did what he claimed, and he did it on schedule. Very candid. 3) One minor wiring glitch whilst patching into the grid was handled promptly. Overall, fantastic experience. I'd give them 6 stars if I could.

Eco Depot was fantastic to work with, they understood I had a plan of how I wanted things and worked with me to make it work. Install / setup of the solar system was easy as they took care of everything even with permits/ inspections changing part way though our install.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
