Energy Select

Every company we hold in Maryland whose Google breakdown has been read, grouped by their share of one and two star reviews. Energy Select is in the highlighted group.

Faulty install and didn't honor warranty for repair. Energy Select installed street/parking lights in my community and they begin to fail shortly after install. They had installed an aftermarket part on the lights that caused water intrusion and shorted the lights. After months of no-shows to "inspect the issue" we had our electrician do replacements at our own expense. They also wanted to charge us labor to do repairs on work they did wrong in the first place.

A terrible experience. We had this installed 2-3years ago. We had to call relentlessly for them to follow up and finish the work. One of the inverters was installed incorrectly. They …

Horrible company with nothing but empty promises and lies. DON'T get solar..especially through Energy Select! 2 years now and it's still not working properly and I'm paying the price. I wish I could rate them in the negative!!!!!

Workmanship was very good, the project took an entire year to complete and communications was sparse and inaccurate at times.

My family has personally dealt with this company and the services they offer for several years now. The professionalism of Greg Havens and his team is unmatched. We have partnered together on many projects with no issue and complete customer satisfaction each time. Whether it is solar or weatherization work, this company should be your first and only phone call. Highly recommend!

We just completed our solar project with Energy Select. We could not have asked for a better experience with them. We chose Energy Select over all of the other providers in the area because of a few things. First and foremost, you can …

After extensive research, we decided to go with Energy Select and guided us from the first to the last step. Thank you to Karen and Destiny for our needed handholding and allowing us to make the right decision in trusting you with our home.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

• Financing

“expected energy savings, available financing options, and the installation timeline.”

• Warranty

“including monitoring, maintenance, warranty claims, and performance reviews. Read…”

Its website also mentions free estimate and insured, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

• Google also lists this company under electrical, insulation and roofing. A company that does both roofing and solar can handle the roof work a panel install often needs.
• It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
• It posts on X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

• —The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
• —We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
• —We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
