I was looking for someone to support my existing system, and to remove/replace panels for a roof replacement. I found these people to be arrogant, condescending and most unhelpful. I get that they might not want to do that kind of work but their overall approach to building their business surprised me. Having the CEO be the single conduit for everything strikes me as a recipe for disaster, and it sounds as if they cherry pick the projects.

I am very disappointed with my recent interactions with MSSI. I have a new construction house, and my house is not showing up on any maps so Emily asked me to provide roof dimensions in order to get a quote. I provided blueprints, pictures, and various plans but was unable to get a hold of the actual roof dimensions and she said they cannot help me. I asked if they can come see the house, or use another template but they are not willing to give me a quote without the dimensions. This is very sad and you would think that a manager or the owner would step in and think of some sort of creative so

Colette and her team are fantastic. Super professional, honest, and accomodating. They even installed a month ahead of schedule. Over the past 3 months my residential PV panels have produced even more power than her estimate predicted. Collette has the underpromise and overdeliver mindset. MSSI is a solid choice.

This is our 3rd home we've installed solar panels on with MSSI. We are always very pleased with their competency, reliability, customer service and final outcomes achieved through solar - the financial results just keep getting better and better!! The President of MSSI, Collette Hayward, is extremely knowledgeable and will talk you through the whole process, answer questions and ensure all details are attended to. She is ALWAYS on top of the latest developments in solar! Her staff have been with her a long time and are responsive & knowledgeable - they too know what customer service means! We

So glad I found Maryland Solar Solutions ! I have dealt with a lot of solar companies and they are absolutely the best. They care about the success of the system so they go above and beyond standard practices. For example, squirrels can chew up wires so they offer a way to protect from them. Very happy customer here.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Years in business
“and after the installation. For over 30 years, the owner of MSSI, Colette Hayward,…”

Its website also mentions free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Who Google shows alongside them

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
