Its one and two star share is 2 points above the typical installer in Boston. Across Massachusetts, 82 of the 198 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 391 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Ordered by the share of one and two star reviews, weighted by how many reviews stand behind it. It ranks review records, not workmanship.
Every company we hold in Boston, on one axis
Each mark is one company we hold in Boston whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. EnergySage is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

If I could give zero stars, I would. They called me after my solar install with a very rude pressured sales call trying to scare me into getting batteries for my home. Telling me hurricanes could knock my power out- I live in Colorado. I’m just speechless

UPDATE: I followed the below instructions from Energy Sage and have received no response from them at all. Worse than useless service. Just posting to appear helpful but not doing anything for their customers. Terrible experience going with a solar installer provided/vetted by EnergySage. Completely useless service that caused me to hire an installer (PlugPV /Palmetto Solar that failed numerous inspections and deadlines. Now the system produces nowhere near estimated power amounts.

Terrible service. Partnered with SolarLeasing who does not return calls and the system they sold us stopped working after 4months from when it was turned on. Nearly 5 mknths later and the system is not producing. Full electricity bill plus solar panel bill and a lein on a house. Great deal right?? No... Run...

EnergySage charges a significant cost to the companies they recommend, adding to your cost. They did a good job comparing the company’s, but is it worth the extra cost? Probably not.

Energysage provided a streamlined process to ensure the customer has access to all the necessary data to make an informed decision and access to multiple providers who all use the same information about the customer to offer a quote. Also, Energysage respected my preference to correspond through email. I encourage everyone that has even the most minute interest in the pros and cons of going solar to pique that interest through Energysage.

It took over 2 years to find the right price, time, and installer; But our Energy Sage advisor was really helpful and patient with us. Got multiple quotes, shopped around, and settled on an installer that was really local to us. They had a long history, and decent reviews. When we got into contact with them, they were excellent in answering all our questions. We agreed on the contract, and installation went smoothly. Only issue was PG&E dragging everything out, so any and all fault is PG&E's. Powerwall is working, the app shows energy usage and generated. Very happy with them.

walk me through the whole process, answered all questions even broke down the difference between the equipment in different routes just amazing

- It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
- It posts on Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, X and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
