Its one and two star share is 9 points above the typical installer in Hawaii. Across Hawaii, 25 of the 87 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 18 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Do not use Family First Solar, they act so nice during the process, after they install the solar and get their money they careless if the system functions right or not. Solar was installed faulty, got to them and another team of electrician came and check it. They said solar is running right and we can run AC. Started running AC and our electric bill is double compared to when we never had solar. Now we have to pay both solar loan and HECO bill. Contacted Family First Solar they won't even come check it. They will definitely answer a lawyer because no one gets solar to pay double bill. Even th

I needed a new roof, which meant organizing to take off and reinstall the solar panels. Family First Solar worked seamlessly with the roofing company to do this. I wanted a battery that would take away the headache of power outages so they installed Sol-Ark which has larger capacity of battery than Tesla. After installation, thorough inspection was made and the system was a go. My electric bill went from an average of $32 to $15.50. Top rating was given for this company additionally as Kevin Medeiros was knowledgeable, thorough, friendly and went above and beyond in helping me to understand th

If you're looking for a locally owned solar company with exceptional service without paying an arm and a leg for quality product then look no further. While trying to get our solar for our home we probably got between 8-10 quotes from large companies to other locally owned companies. Kevin and his team made this process a no brainer. He answered all my questions (which were a ton and all hours of the day) he never made me feel like I was bothering him. His crew that came to install everything took about 2.5 days and they were all local guys that were very friendly. If you stumbled across this

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“need to take advantage of a product warranty, we will take care of that process so…”
  • Free estimate

“of our sales representatives for a free consultation and learn about how Family First…”

Its website also mentions established, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
