Its one and two star share is 18 points above the typical installer in California. Across California, 265 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 26 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

DISRESPECTFUL PEOPLE AND BAD OWNERSHIP! WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SOLAR TO ANYONE. IT’S A SCAM! I HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY SOLAR PANELS AND THEY NEVER SENT ANYONE TO FIX THE ISSUE. THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEND SOMEONE ASAP BUT NO ONE EVER CAME. GO WITH A DIFFERENT COMPANY! IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE 0 STAR I WOULD!

We went solar in 2022. Sunpower came to our door, we decided to listen and we are so glad we did! The initial process was long due to town specific permits and miscommunication with PSEG but in the end, it definitely was worth it. we …

Sunpower is truly THE SKETCHIEST, worst company to work with. We had our system installed in 2022 and I cannot over emphasize how terrible every single thing has been. They are truly elusive con artists. They took forever to install our system, botched up our electrical panel upgrade, causing our breakers to flip every 30 min in dead summer, damaged our roof causing leaks and proceeded to take over 6 months to address or even respond to communication on either. They installed panels on an old and already worn roof, and are saying their reports show the “roof was new” when of course we know it

Our sales advisor, Keenan Schuman, was terrific -- clear, concise, professional -- with no time-pressured sales tactics. Installation was also very smooth -- very quick and neatly done. Highly recommend Axia.

  • 5★ · around December 2025

Huge thanks to Keenan at Get Smart Solar. The consultation was detailed, every question was answered, and the process was incredibly smooth. Excellent service and communication throughout. Highly recommend if you’re exploring solar!

I had some confusion about the program but Keenan Schuman was very professional and explained everything to me with patience and clarity to my satisfaction

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Angi and ConsumerAffairs. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
