Its one and two star share is 33 points above the typical installer in Wisconsin. Across Wisconsin, 2 of the 58 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 11 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in Wisconsin whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Gray Duck Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

While the owner claims I am a disgruntled what he does not say is why... he didn't pay me for a deal I closed and he took 6 months to install so he claims he lost money so he's not paying me. All the positive reviews that just popped up in the last 24 hours are from his friends (read them and it's pretty obvious), proving his ethics... he is also inexperienced and has no internal solar installers. Ask him. I would avoid doing business with this company because they don't know what they're doing and likely will be forced to close down within months.

They use spam callers who ignore the do not call list. If they are using illegal phone call scammers to get appointments I can guess the rest of the business will be as sketchy. Another solar scammer, so shocked.

I met with Mike, the owner of Gray Duck and found that he’s an honest and transparent person to deal with. He cares a lot about his company, the quality and pricing of projects being offered to homeowners, but also the quality of the people he has work for him is very important to him. I had the pleasure of meeting part of his team and appreciated them answering questions. I noticed the reviews and was a little concerned, until I understood the context behind them. No one’s perfect, and the reps who are no longer with him were not a good fit for Gray Duck’s vision moving into the future. When

I am that guy that researches, compares, do my homework and Gray Duck Solar (GDS) surpassed what I was finding out there. I scheduled an onsite review (and a chance to interview them), first impressions; Professional, answered all questions with facts and data, simple to chat with. Gave it a little time and selected GDS who stayed flexible and worked with my final concerns. Project went as described, in a timely fashion, no mess left around, again, professional installation (was important to me as I had been warned that was where others cut corner’s). Roughly three months has passed and zero i

Just like to say Mike and his crew are extremely attention to detail based and very easy to work with. Great company!

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions financing and licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    Elsewhere

    • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

    Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
