Its one and two star share is 2 points above the typical installer in New York. Across New York, 104 of the 247 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 22 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Don't use this company! The service is deplorable.

GVllc just completed our groundmounted solar panel installation in Cazenovia and we are very pleased with the work. I’m a retired civil engineer and know good construction design and installation practices, these guys are excellent!

Green Visions Solar: what can I say? TOP KNOTCH! Doug and Austin do amazing work! They are truly dedicated and skilled professionals in their field. Doug, the owner, came out and met with me and did a site survey and furnished me with all the information and steps to installing my ground mounted Solar array and system. Dougs son, Austin, designed my system and sent me detailed information and renderings of the system and it's specs. They guided me on how to apply for incentives and loans for the system. It was a fairly simple and speedy process as soon as funding and materials were secured. In

We have been hoping to go solar for nearly 20 years. Green Visions made it happen. They provided very personal service tailored to our particular needs. Job well done! We highly recommend them.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Established

“reduce long-term energy costs. Since 2010, Green Visions Solar has provided…”

  • Insured

“surrounding areas. We are licensed, insured, and highly skilled, so you can rely…”

  • Licensed

“York, and surrounding areas. We are licensed, insured, and highly skilled, so you…”

Its website also mentions free estimate and family owned, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
