Its one and two star share is 1 point above the typical installer in the Alexandria area. Across Virginia, 24 of the 118 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 207 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I wish we could recommend Ipsun Solar as we had a good experience up until this month. Unfortunately, their install caused leaking in our roof and we scheduled them to come out and take a look (it was originally verified by a third party roofing company when the leak started). We were scheduled for the 12pm-2pm window today and I called the office at 3:00pm. They said they would get back to me and I have not heard back. I moved things around to make this appointment work and because a leaking roof given all the summer rain we are getting is not great.

I wish I had a single nice thing to say here. We had solar panels installed 4 months ago by a different company who filed for bankruptcy (Purelight). This occurred after the install but unfortunately before we got the permission to operate (PTO). Our lender Dividend contacted us and told us Ipsun will finish the project, and that they will reach out within a certain time frame. When they didn’t, I had to call them. Again and again and again. After a couple months of absolutely no correspondence on their part I called them to try to get an update. I was told that they “have their own customers

I spent a full hour going over everything with a nice sales rep. It was followed by the quote that we had discussed. I was so convinced that things were going in the right direction that I canceled other quotes. But then I never heard back from the company after contacting them via email three separate times. No out of office reply, nothing. If this is how they respond to almost certain sales transaction, then one can be reasonably guess that you will get even crappier service after the sale.

Abdul is amazing! I lost all power in my backup panel at around noon. Michael and Abdul reacted so quickly. After a few hours on the phone with Telsa (who was very disrepectful to Abdul), it was determined that the gateway was bad. Tesla said it would be 3-4 weeks before it could be replaced (meaning no power to the all the things that were on backup power). The Telsa agent said that was not his problem and there was nothing he could do to expedite. Abdul worked late to ensure that a solution was in place so we would have power that night. Thanks Michael and Abdul for the great and speedy powe

Ipsun has been super easy to work with from the get-go. The install went well, couple hiccups here or there with a misplaced electrical something or other overloading a breaker, but when I called the support line they had a technician out within 48 hours and they fixed it same day. Every minor issue I've had was fully sorted without any drama. The system is up and running, looks really good, and we're producing a lot more energy than we were using. They handle everything from permitting to inspection to getting your RECs set up in the marketplace, putting in for the net metering contract, etc.

I had solar with a battery installed in December just before tax credit expired. Ipsun did a pretty good job , but I am kind of picky. This took a long time to get installed, it wasn’t really anyone’s fault. The first try my panels got held up by the government and it had to be resubmitted with the different panels, then there was a problem with the engineered wind load and it had to be redone again. When the guys came to install the panels they had to rush since by this time it was getting late in the year and everyone was pushing to get everything installed for the tax credit. The racking is

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“energy. Plus, our 25+ year hardware warranty ensures the reliability of your solar…”
  • Years in business

“For solar systems that need to run over 20 years, doing it right, with capable…”
  • Licensed

“production, our in-house team of licensed electricians and certified solar…”

Its website also mentions financing and free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, X and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
