Its one and two star share is 4 points above the typical installer in California. Across California, 596 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 42 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Submitted an application for my home to go solar without my signature or consent. Their application for my address has been causing me major migraines as I jump through hoops to eliminate their application against my home with PG&E. I chose another company and now my project has been delayed for 3 months now as I try to get them removed from holding the project portal hostage where I am unable to move forward with anyone else. 10/10 wouldn't sign with them now for all the tea in the universe.

Overall poor experience with North Valley Solar Power. Initial installation included three solar panels rail extending past roof line that needed to be cut back, after I called and complained. In addition, garbage (paper cups, sandwich wrappers and such) left on my roof and at the installation location near my electric panel. The solar equipment was installed on side of my house contrary to city approved plans. Equipment was repositioned resulting in numerous screw and anchor holes in my house siding. The installation failed city inspection numerous times for various reasons resulting in a con

Our system was installed smoothly as promised and the company was very responsive to my requests for support and documentation. They made the process clear and easy so we were able to do something we had been talking about for years!

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. Grass Valley is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
