Its one and two star share is 5 points above the typical installer in Stamford. Across Connecticut, 18 of the 112 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 13 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.
Every company we hold in Stamford, on one axis
Each mark is one company we hold in Stamford whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Northeast Custom Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Very disappointing. I have an unresolved issue and no response from Mark or anyone else as to when it will be resolved. Just contacted the manufacturer who, after troubleshooting, informed me a panel has not been operational since installation-four months ago. I need a replacement part and need to find someone to install in spite of allegedly having a warranty with Northeast Custom Solar. They certainly don’t stand behind their work.

My experience with NECS (North East Custom Solar) was disappointing, with several ongoing issues that are yet to be resolved.

Overall I’m very pleased with the system Northeast solar installed at my home. I thought the planning stage was smooth. Pricing was fair. Installation was smooth. The only annoying part (if you are doing new construction) is waiting for your CO to get the town inspectors to give you the permission to energize which then allows Eversource to install your net meter (but that’s not the fault of NES). So far we’ve been glitch free. I really like the App you can use to monitor your solar production. And Eversource gives good rebates for the EV charger and installation too which is cool. 👍🏼

Anyone looking for a good solar company I would highly recommend Northeast Custom Solar. I dealt with the owner Mark Murphy and one of his team Steve Williamson between the two of them they were in touch weekly sometimes more. This was the second system I put on my house. The problems I had was mostly Eversource and all their red tape. The problems I'm having is with my 1st system is from Freedom Solar Forever. I lost solar from them on July 25th it was an inverter problem that solar edge told me it took them 6 weeks to confirm it was an inverter problem and would try to have a tech come out b

The day they finished installing my system they met both the electrical and building inspectors all the same day. Andy and Mark are great guys highly recommend !

What the company says about itself
Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.
Warranty
“Each system comes with 25 year warranty. Local Warehouse We have a huge…”
Insured
“and more. We are fully licensed and insured. Slide title Write your caption here…”
Its website also mentions years in business and licensed, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. Stamford is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
