Its one and two star share is 4 points above the typical installer in Minnesota. Across Minnesota, 25 of the 68 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 110 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Vendor consistently rotates through subcontractors and damages their own install resulting in a 25% drop in power. After 2 weeks the owner/manager is "checking with management" on how to fix. Other items that went awry: Vendor initially installed an extra electrical box on the side of the house for a meter that wasn't needed. They've since removed the box leaving silicone holes where it once was. The optimizers began whining so loud they were heard 600+ feet away. I was told they were installing diagnostic software and hardware, came outside to find more electrical boxes and conduit on the hou

Initial experience was good but now we're facing increasing payments on our financing due to being misled about what our total cost would be. Additionally, our solar system doesn't perform as well as we were told it would. We did 120% of our usage and we still end up with electric bills. Promises made and not kept. Don't use this company. Use someone local in the Duluth area.

Do not Recommend Experienced much misogyny from this Utah based company, as well as from a staff from their partner company Belknap Electric. They placed equipment in an un-approved spot and caused damage to my house.

We had a great experience with optimum solar. From the sale to installation they were quick to answer any question that came up. The onsite crew was clean and efficient. The app they set you up with is user friendly and we are exited to watch our production grow this spring/summer!

It was a lengthy process from start to finish. It took 6 months, but Solar is up (REC450 Panels) on an 18KW Output system. To shed a little detail, Optimum was working with bad data from another potential Solar Candidate for a 32KW system. And then like many other locations, our infrastructure is not built for this type of collaborative power generation. We exceeded the power handling capability of the wire and transformers. A redesign downgrade to stay within our infrastructures capability, our system was redesigned as 18KW home rooftop system that was installed (and serviced by Belknap Elect

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on X, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
