Its one and two star share is 2 points above the typical installer in the Lancaster area. Across Pennsylvania, 49 of the 146 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 21 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Lancaster area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. PowerStream Solar & Electric is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

What reviewers said

Very unhappy with their work, contracted them to do start to finish new construction....failed electrical inspection twice. They didn’t even bother to write a contract. All lights make loud static noise, no TV cables were ran, one outlet cover was literally cut in half to make it fit because they installed the box right up against the wall. The job was barely completed by the due date, I spent an additional 3k replacing faulty outlets, re-ran wires and patching up holes as a result. Never again!

Great service, communication and incredibly easy to work with throughout our solar project and responding to questions afterwards

PowerStream was our installer and we are very pleased. The process was smooth and without complications. The team did a great job of designing a system that fit our budget, fit our time frame and fit our energy needs. We worked with many team members and they were all professional and answered our questions at every turn. They even suggested cost reduction ideas such as a whole home energy audit and utility based rebates. Highly recommend!

great costumer service, these guys installed a solar system on my house in york. From start to finish they did a great job with communication and I could not be happier with the work done installing the panels. Thanks so much!

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on ConsumerAffairs. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
