Its one and two star share is 1 point above the typical installer in the Naperville area. Across Illinois, 70 of the 183 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 38 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Every company we hold in the Naperville area, on one axis

0% rated 1–2★75%

Each mark is one company we hold in the Naperville area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Reficiency Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Got solar system installed a few years ago by this company. Had some issues with inspections getting approved, but it got done, and was working good for a while. Come earlier this year I got an electric bill over $400 and thought that there was a mistake. I look at my Solar Edge app and the system isn't producing any electric. I contacted Tyler, and he said that he lived near by and could come take a look. Was saying it could be optimizers, or animal damage that it would be a little money to come out and troubleshoot it. I have emails back and forth with him, then nothing for a couple months.

Tyler was great... at first but dont be fooled. Now that we need his help to get our panels working again he is no where to be found. So we are paying for full electric and panels. Thanks tyler! ... Make it right (actually stand by your work) and I'll take this review down so all your friends and familys reviews and stars can bring you back up to 5 stars.

Decent price, but you get what you pay for. Customer service is lacking. No communication for weeks on project status. Unreasonable install delays. Timeframe from contract signing to install and power up took well over six months. Well, even design back and forth during the quotation phase were unreasonably long. Post install, no communication on incentives. Install itself is less then appealing with conduits all over the roof. Permits were pulled only after the physical install was complete. Again, you get what you pay for.

The whole house feels less stressful now knowing the electric bill won’t spike every summer. Solar production has been excellent and the installation process was far easier than we originally imagined.

Reficiency did a great job installing for us. Their team installed in a timely manner and even the inspector commented on their clean electrical work. Highly recommended!

Pleasure to work with. Professional, responsive and great quality of craftsmanship. Highly recommended!

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions warranty, 24/7 availability and licensed, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    • It posts on Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

    Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
