Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in Vermont. Across Vermont, 14 of the 28 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 75 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Ordered by the share of one and two star reviews, weighted by how many reviews stand behind it. It ranks review records, not workmanship.

Every company we hold in Vermont, on one axis

0% rated 1–2★45%

Each mark is one company we hold in Vermont whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Southern Vermont Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

What reviewers said

  • 5★ · around August 2026 · the company replied

Every bit of this project was performed with courtesy and skill and the crew was eager to answer any and all of my questions. I'm very pleased with them and the results.

  • 5★ · around July 2026 · the company replied

Southern VT Solar recently installed rooftop solar and batteries at our house. The crew was friendly, conscientious, and finished up more quickly than expected. Would certainly work with them again.

  • 5★ · around July 2026 · the company replied

We had held off on installing solar because we have a standing seam metal roof, but the economics of being a holdout given our excellent sun coverage kept us looking at proposals and vendors. Southern Vermont Solar's strong recommendations for doing standing seam installations with the new no-penetration clips caught our eye. Their team did a great job with the install, getting all the paperwork in order, and keeping us looped in the entire time.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“extensive troubleshooting, repair and warranty experience, we are able to resolve…”

  • Years in business

“with a locally-owned company with over 25 years of experience, technical excellence,…”

  • Licensed

“our mission and meet the team We are licensed electrical experts that help with…”

Its website also mentions insured, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. South Burlington is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
