Its one and two star share is 3 points above the typical installer in Bangor. Across Maine, 15 of the 43 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 350 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Suncovia randomly called me. I explained to the caller and the second person I was connected to that we have a slate roof. They both reassured me you could do solar panels with a slate roof. The 3rd person who called finally said you cant do solar panels with a slate roof. Not sure I would trust a company with unknowledgeable people. Seems a little shady.

GOOD INSTALLATION, BAD ISSUES WITH MAINTENANCE: We recently had a problem with 8 solar panels on our roof that took about a month of back and forth to fix. What was good about Suncovia: Quinn sales rep was polite, efficient, responsive and easy to work with. Installation was easy. Administrative set-up easy. Staff on the field (electricians and installers) were efficient and professional. What has been bad about Suncovia: When there was a problem with the 8 solar panels GoodLeap and Suncovia at first kept saying I need to contact the other. When I did get in contact with a Suncovia manager he

Worst solar company in Massachusetts! Terrible communication! Was working with a gentleman named Dean to get set up with a solar system and now he is no where to be found! Company has wasted my time!

Very professional and transparent. The installation of the system was smooth and done properly. I would use them again.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“Suncovia Have questions about solar, financing options, roofing, or the installation…”

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
