Its one and two star share is 25 points above the typical installer in Bozeman. Across Montana, 1 of the 36 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 4 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Every company we hold in Bozeman, on one axis

0% rated 1–2★30%

Each mark is one company we hold in Bozeman whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Thirsty Lake Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

What reviewers said

Near impossible to get a hold of. I was coming from out of town and needed to make arrangements to meet Jeff at the shop to buy a part. On my final call, Jeff told me that I'm wasting his time and this isn't worth his efforts. He could have shipped me the part, instead, chose to be rude and caustic. He advertises that he sells Trimetric products, but refused to sell them to me. Poor customer service, poor communication skills. Good luck if you choose to use him!

Jeff was great! He was prompt in all of his communications and receptive when we had questions. They got right after the job and completed it, on a weekend in a day and a half! All around we are really glad we chose Thirsty Lake! You won’t go wrong with Jeff!!!

Did two jobs for me - both very professionally done. I was satisfied with the results and working with Jeff.

We had a very good experience with Thirsty Lake. I highly recommend them. Very informative, professional and efficient.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Licensed

“home for his family. Jeff is a licensed residential electrician. In addition…”

Its website also mentions established, insured and licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
