Its one and two star share is 26 points above the typical installer in Rhode Island. Across Rhode Island, 4 of the 33 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 18 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in Rhode Island whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Venture windows is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Unfortunately, my experience with this company was 1 star. I made an appointment directly with one of their employees late Monday for a house review at 7pm tonight *Wednesday" and was told he to do an inspection of wiring, how it's connected to the grid (isn't it just like most houses, via power lines from the street to the meter on my house?) and condition of my roof. I had previously told them that I am installing a new roof before any solar goes on it. But they said this inspection was so that they could work up a "customized quote "down to the cent". Waited and waited. No calls, no texts.

Venture installed solar panels on my home 2 years ago - they required me to put in a new roof (even though my roof was only about 6 years old at the time). My roof started leaking a few months after their install. The roofing company they used denied responsibility - claimed it was other issues - I’ve spend tens of thousands of dollars since to try and repair all these other areas to no avail, roof has been leaking for past 2 years! Lo and behold, a roofing specialist from Venture determined that it was in fact due to faulty roof installation! And now - neither company is taking responsibility

Stay clear from even contacting them. I had a salesman come to the house and explain everything to me. I had solar panels before at my previous house so I was well aware of everything, but things change so I listened. Venture solar offers something called PPA. They sell all the power to RI Energy, then they sell it back to you at a cheaper price than RI Energy charges. Yes, you will 100% save money. Every year they go up 2% in their price and RI Energy goes up on average 7% according to Venture. Again, you will obviously save money. There are some other things, but that's the main point. I ask

Had a great experience in talking with Matthew Kitman (who gave me my overall walk through of my system) and the instalation crew for Venture. These guys did an amazing job with very little interruption of my day or time. I would recommend these guys as your goto for solar.

Venture Solar is a super professional and communicative company. I felt super supportive during the whole process and everyone was friendly to talk to!

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Years in business

“employees - no subcontractors! With over 40 years experience, owners Bruce Schulbaum…”

Its website also mentions financing, free estimate, established and licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
