Its one and two star share is 2 points above the typical installer in Sacramento. Across California, 537 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 32 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Every company we hold in Sacramento, on one axis

0% rated 1–2★35%

Each mark is one company we hold in Sacramento whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. AMECO Solar & Roofing is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Terrible service -bad installation, failed multiple inspections, paperwork errors and didn’t care to fix issues despite multiple complaints. Avoid.

Alex at AMECO loves to interrupt my day several times per week with unsolicited texts and phone calls trying to sell solar products. I abhor telemarketing, and will never use this company for any solar needs. They buy contact info from sleazy marketing agencies, and if you are unlucky enough to be on that list, you will never hear the end of it

Had a really amazing sales experience with Kasey at Ameco. She was thorough in her research and communicative without being overbearing or pushy. She really helped me to understand my options and the benefits of their service. Really set my mind at ease!

Our panels were not generating near as much electricity as before. Tigran sent out a technician who diagnosed the problem. Our 10 year old inverter was bad. He got SMS to ship us a brand new one, at no charge. Sam and another gentleman installed it and patiently taught me how to read the settings. It works perfectly now. Very professional company and "on it." Great communication. I highly recommend them.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Ameco Solar, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! From start to finish, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to providing the best service possible. The installation process was seamless, and they took the time to explain everything, ensuring I understood how my new solar system works.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Years in business

“energy solutions. For the past over 50 years we have been offering our customers…”

Its website also mentions warranty and established, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
