I started a project with AAR in June 2025, installed with PTO in November 2025. I did not have a good time. The project took months to go from contract to permit, for multiple reasons. The outsourced engineering review insisted on changes (with extra cost) to the previously agreed upon design contract. They cited PGE constraints related to the gas meter, and refused to re-review despite me showing the identical set up working on an identical home next door. That immediately took me up $600 and significantly worsened the design of my system. Then the team wouldn’t final the permit application i

I am mystified by the other good reviews, but happy for those folks. We had a pretty rough experience. The actual people doing the work (roofer, electrician) were solid and nice, but the project management was terrible. Bumped up from one star to two stars for the actual roof installation because it was fine, but seriously we thought about going to BBB or small claims court about the mgmt team. It honestly would have been so much easier to just manage ourselves; their management folks just were adding confusion, misinformation, and huge delays. They were wonderful while selling us, and then on

If I could give a zero, I would. I had high hopes when I chose American Array Solar, but my experience has been incredibly disappointing. They assured me that my solar system would completely eliminate my dependence on PG&E, promising it would power my entire house. Instead, I'm now stuck paying $260 for the solar service and an additional $350+ for PG&E each month. Moreover, I learned the hard way that if PG&E goes out, my solar system won't work either—only the power stored in my battery is usable. This has left me in a tough spot during outages, especially during the hot summer days. Custom

I wish I could say that my experience with American Array has been great. It has absolutely been a mixed bag. Communication has been the key issue, I have had to initiate communication and follow ups myself throughout the process instead of them begin the ones leading me through the process.

Very responsive and proactive company. They got all work done without needing me to follow up. Worked with Adam (engineering), Alam (Sales). I am under the impression that they do not subcontract as well. Overall good experience. Notes: Enphase system, no ppa. Was not charged (did not apply to me) but be aware that there are extra charges for steep roof angle, battery distance (>3 ft) from main pane, etc.

Outstanding Experience with American Array Solar! I had a great experience working with American Array Solar for our solar installation. Right from the start, I was impressed by their straightforward pricing and how clear and responsive they were in answering all of my questions about the process—no hidden fees or complicated sales games. I want to give a special acknowledgment to Adam, who provided above-and-beyond quality service throughout the entire project. When our local city inspector started being exceptionally difficult and throwing up unexpected roadblocks, Adam stepped up without he

What the company says about itself
Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.
Warranty
“personalized customer care which is guaranteed to deliver the appropriate solution…”
Its website also mentions free estimate, better business bureau, bonded, insured and licensed, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.
Elsewhere
- It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
- It posts on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and X. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
