Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in the New York area. Across New York, 120 of the 247 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 261 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the New York area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Brooklyn SolarWorks is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

SPAM : JUNK MAIL PROVOCATEURS! Spam calling email and physical mailing me for years. Just called them back after a spam call getting hung up on both times when asking yet again to be removed from the list?! If the owner of BKSW reads this whoever answered the line needs to go! Do not call me 🤙🏻 stop harassing people.

Their drivers run red lights in Prospect Heights, not respectful of family neighborhoods.

The sales part, permitting, helping explaining financing was all excellent. The system was installed and connected to the grid faster than expected. The reason why I’m only rating 3/5 is that I’ve had a small issue with the consumption part in the enphase app not being correct. It seems to be an issue with the CT clamps(?). I spoke with the PM and told him about the issue on 6/13. He said sometimes it does that and to give it 24-48 hours. On 6/15 I left a message that I was still having the problem. No response On 6/17 I called the main office line and they took my name and message and the PM

Overall happy with my solar installation from 2 years ago. However, there were some aspects that I was not very happy about. 1) despite claiming that they do everything in-house, my job actually got subcontracted to a different solar company. Brooklyn Solarworks should have disclosed that prior to executing the job. I didn’t find out until the installation already begun and asked the installer why there was a different logo on the back of his shirt from Brooklyn Solarworks. Thankfully the subcontractor was super nice and knowledgeable. 2) Post installation customer support was not to par. Ques

We had Brooklyn SolarWorks install a solar system on our commercial property in Brooklyn, and overall we’ve had a very good experience. The installation process went smoothly, and most importantly, the system has been producing in line with the projected annual production. During the first year, we did have an inverter that stopped working as well as an issue with the monitoring configuration. Brooklyn SolarWorks responded, replaced the inverter, corrected the monitoring issue, and followed up to make sure everything was operating properly. What I appreciate most is that when issues came up, t

Brooklyn Solar Works was spot on when the provided me with a timeline of what would happen-- and when-- back when I first signed my contract. At every step of the way they were on time and quickly responded to my questions and concerns. A pleasure to do business with!

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
