Its one and two star share is 3 points below the typical installer in the Lakeside area. Across California, 714 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 23 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

0% rated 1–2★50%

Each mark is one company we hold in the Lakeside area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Clayco Electric Inc. Solar Specialist is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

They extended the primary ground wire with a crimp fitting and left it in the wall (not to code) they left a 16foot wad of cat 6 wire dangling on the side of my house. I had to add a j-box to install the wire in. I'm having a solar expert investigate the rest of their install. They also did not pay their bill with the supply house and the supply house file a mechanics lien without any "Notice of Mechanics Lien" sent to me. It's looking more like I hired a "fly by night" outfit. Stay away Here is the attitude of the owner you will have to deal with. Text messages attached here.

Awesome experience installing a new EV charger. Highly recommend!

Installation of solar panels on one's house can be a difficult decision of who do I go with and how much do I have to pay. I did my research on various solar companies and Clayco Electric is the right fit for me. From the very beginning to the final product everything went as planned. I couldn't be happier with my decision to go with Clayco Electric Inc.

Awesome installers! Clayco was excellent in everything they did, communication, responsiveness, timeliness, attention to detail… I would 100% recommend them for a solar install project!!!

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“plans to inverter replacements and financing options, so you can go solar with confidence…”

  • Established

“has been in the electrical industry since 1995. At the age of 15 Clay started…”

  • Licensed

“and support sustainability. With licensed installers, NABCEP accreditation, and…”

Its website also mentions warranty, free estimate and family owned, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • Google also lists this company under electrical and roofing. A company that does both roofing and solar can handle the roof work a panel install often needs.
  • It posts on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
